Let Me Introduce Myself

Hi, I'm JSALSA. Roll Tide Roll!

I'm thrilled to be here and a part of this team. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I'm a massive sports fan - with football always taking center stage. My heart belongs to the college game first and the NFL is a close second.

I actually grew up dreaming of playing soccer, but everything changed when I discovered American football at age seven. I fell in love instantly and never looked back. As a die-hard Alabama and SEC fan, I live for the passion of college athletics.

While I love the NFL, I've always viewed it differently. To me, the NFL is a "grown man's sport." It is incredibly cutthroat. You're looking at only 32 teams and 54-man rosters-it's truly the best of the best.

The numbers prove how hard it is to survive there: if you take away the rare exceptions who have long-term careers, the average lifespan of a first round is only about 4.5 years.

To put it into perspective: since 2000, 72 quarterbacks have been drafted in the first round. Out of all that talent, only six have been able to start and win a Super Bowl: Patrick Mahomes, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford and Joe Flacco. Overall, the NFL, it's a tough sport. Only the best truly succeed in this league.

When I'm not clearing my thoughts on the gridiron, you'll probably find me talking NBA or college basketball. If not those things, overall, the direction of college athletics itself. The games are changing every day, but at the end of the day, we love the sport.

I'm looking forward to our discussions!
